Role Description
The Legal Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting the operational, financial, and administrative functions of the Legal Department. This role improves legal workflow efficiency, manages vendor relationships, oversees contract lifecycle systems, and supports compliance initiatives. The Legal Operations Specialist collaborates with internal stakeholders and external counsel to optimize processes and ensure regulatory adherence in a fully remote environment.
- Support the management and optimization of legal department workflows and processes
- Administer contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems and document repositories
- Coordinate with outside counsel and manage vendor relationships
- Track legal budgets, invoices, and spend reporting
- Assist with compliance documentation and regulatory reporting
- Develop and maintain legal policies, procedures, and templates
- Support risk management initiatives and internal audits
- Maintain accurate legal records and ensure document retention compliance
- Provide reporting and analytics related to legal operations metrics
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, procurement, HR, and compliance teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Paralegal Studies, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in legal operations, paralegal, compliance, or related legal support roles
- Experience with contract management or legal operations platforms
- Strong understanding of legal documentation and corporate governance processes
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a corporate legal department
- Familiarity with e-billing systems and legal spend management tools
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulatory requirements
- Project management experience or certification
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or data reporting tools
Compensation
- Annual Salary Range: $80,000 – $110,000 USD, based on experience, certifications, and operational scope
- Performance-based incentives may apply
