• Place subcontracts/purchase orders of moderate complexity in accordance with all regulatory (FAR/DFAR) and corporate compliance requirements • Review drawings, specifications and purchase history to determine sourcing strategy for production hardware and build to print mechanical parts • Prepare, issue, and analyze RFQs/RFPs • Perform cost/price analysis techniques in support of proposals and purchase orders • Develop negotiation strategies and lead formal negotiations (Price, Delivery, Terms & Conditions) • Nurture professional business relationships with first tier subcontractors • Work closely with the Program and other functional groups (Operations, Quality, Engineering, etc) to achieve objectives including financial goals • Develop plans to promote cost reduction initiatives and performance improvements (technical and quality) in support of flawless supplier execution for programs • Coordinate meetings between suppliers and internal customers • Support occasional program travel needs to visit suppliers as needed
