The Behavioral Health Medical Director is responsible for the administrative oversight of behavioral health medical services to ensure appropriate and cost-effective medical care, potentially developing programs to improve quality, cost, and outcomes. This role involves providing clinical consultation, serving as a clinical/strategic advisor, and supporting clinicians to ensure timely responses to members and providers.

The Plan Performance Medical Director acts as the lead behavioral health clinician for the Louisiana market, overseeing the administration of BH medical services, including developing and enforcing medical policies and clinical guidelines for cost-effective care. This role involves driving market direction related to BH cost of care, improving UM and CM operations, and serving as a liaison between the market and various internal/external leadership groups.

Provide comprehensive, holistic psychiatric care to perinatal, perimenopausal, and menopausal patients through a fully remote telehealth model, practicing within a quality-focused care model that prioritizes collaboration with the client's therapist. Conduct initial 60-minute intake sessions and 20-30 minute follow-ups, adapting to the evolving workflows of an early-stage startup.

This position involves providing virtual critical care services during nocturnal shifts as a PRN Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant. The role is part of the Intensivist Care department within Advocate Health.
