Role Description
This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead the technical strategy and execution across advertiser growth initiatives for a major digital platform. You will architect and implement scalable backend solutions that support both internal teams and external partners, enabling advertisers of all sizes to succeed.
- Collaborate closely with product, design, data, UX, and sales teams to drive high-impact projects that shape the future of the ads platform.
- Mentor other engineers, define long-term roadmaps, and ensure the reliability, performance, and usability of core API services.
- This is a high-visibility role where technical decisions directly impact business growth and platform monetization.
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of the Ads API and related backend services to enable advertiser growth.
- Define multi-year technical roadmaps and translate complex business needs into scalable solutions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, marketing, data science, UX, and sales to align engineering efforts with business goals.
- Mentor and coach engineering team members, fostering a culture of technical excellence and proactive problem-solving.
- Drive execution on high-leverage projects, prioritizing initiatives that maximize advertiser acquisition, retention, and satisfaction.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously evolve platform capabilities.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience with a record of leading large-scale, cross-team technical projects.
- Expertise in at least one general-purpose programming language (e.g., Go, Python, Scala, Java, or C++) and the ability to develop expertise in multiple languages.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills, including the ability to prioritize and deliver through others.
- Experience with experimentation, data-informed decision-making, and hypothesis-driven product development.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to align stakeholders and influence technical and business decisions.
- Self-motivated with a bias for action and the ability to navigate ambiguity independently.
- Experience building highly available, performant, and secure APIs or backend systems is strongly preferred.
