Role Description
DNV Energy USA, Inc. seeks a Power System Study Engineer to work remotely for our office in Houston, TX.
- Perform electrical power system steady state, short circuit, dynamic and transient stability analyses for renewable generation interconnection including Wind (Onshore, Offshore), Solar, Storage, hybrid projects.
- Perform electrical grid short term and long term transmission planning studies for onshore and offshore generation interconnections, load interconnections, transmission development and interconnections.
- Perform Voltage ride through (VRT) studies, dynamic model quality tests, model benchmarking analysis using different power system modeling softwares.
- Produce and/or review quality technical reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop or modify automation scripts to enhance the efficiency, speed and accuracy of technical simulations.
- Actively attend (in person or remote) industry stakeholder meetings. Stay up to date with assigned market changes in terms of NERC, FERC planning procedures, policy changes and developments.
- Contribute to the team’s research and innovation activities in terms of development of new techniques and/or analytical tools to further the team’s performance in terms of efficiency and/or capability improvements.
- Cultivate new customer relationships, and assist in preparing responses to Requests for Proposals (RFP) and provide Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for new tenders/bids/opportunities. Remote work permitted.
Salary
Salary range: $70,782-$127,308.22/year
