Role Description

This role involves providing technical, administrative, and commercial project management leadership for the delivery of Power Delivery projects, including electric transmission, distribution, and substation infrastructure.

  • Responsible for overall performance of assigned Power Delivery projects of moderate size and complexity.
  • Oversight of project financials, budgets, forecasting, earned value, schedules (CPM), technical execution, client satisfaction, quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC), health and safety, and risk management.
  • Ensures adherence to responsibilities across the end-to-end project lifecycle, including proposal development, project startup and planning, engineering coordination, procurement support, construction execution, reporting, and project closeout.
  • Deliverables documented, governed, and audited to meet or exceed corporate standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Project/Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Physical Sciences, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 7–10 years of progressive post-education experience in a project management role, preferably in power delivery, transmission & distribution (T&D), substation, or utility capital projects of 115kV or higher.
  • Sound understanding of the project delivery lifecycle within the A/E/C and utility industries.
  • Well-developed analytical, organizational, and project controls skills.
  • Competent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated self-leadership and accountability.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Competency in technical writing, project documentation, and project management software.
  • Proven commitment to workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Ability to support project-driven schedules, including extended hours or outage-related work periods.
  • Willingness and ability to perform occasional travel to support client engagement and project sites.

Requirements

  • Oversee and lead cross-functional Power Delivery project teams.
  • Contribute to the development of Power Delivery project proposals.
  • Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), task sequencing, and cost-loaded estimates.
  • Establish and enforce technical, constructability, and design reviews.
  • Support margin analysis, profitability forecasting, and contingency planning.
  • Coordinate and assist with the technical and commercial aspects of contract negotiations.
  • Develop, maintain, and update Project Initiation and governance documentation.
  • Participate in and lead project kick-off, safety, and execution alignment meetings.
  • Collaborate closely with Project Accounting and Finance teams.
  • Oversee project controls functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
  • Coordinate with area, technical, and resource managers.
  • Proactively identify, communicate, and escalate Health & Safety incidents.
  • Participate in and support problem project and recovery reviews.
  • Provide regular, structured project reporting to clients and stakeholders.
  • Monitor and manage accounts receivable (AR), unbilled revenue, and cash flow.
  • Coordinate with Procurement and Supply Chain teams.
  • Complete formal project closeout activities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of project management methodologies and industry trends.
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and project risks.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required.
