Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering to lead our engineering function and drive PlanOmatic’s next phase of growth through AI-forward development practices.

• Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team.
• Own sprint execution, roadmap delivery, and technical prioritization in partnership with Product and Leaders.
• Ensure strong communication, accountability, and performance standards across your team.
• Build and maintain scalable processes for the Engineering function that enable predictable support and delivery standards for the organization.
• Champion AI adoption across the team by standardizing on Claude Code and establishing AI-assisted development practices.
• Actively contribute to the codebase and lead by example.
• Regularly produce and review production-level code using Claude Code.
• Lead architecture decisions through implementation and build AI-native features.
• Oversee system architecture decisions to ensure scalability, reliability, and security.
• Drive best practices in code quality, documentation, and DevOps.
• Report directly to the CEO and act as the technical thought partner on engineering decisions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering, with 3+ years leading engineering teams.
• Demonstrated experience building with generative AI, including LLM-powered features and AI-assisted development workflows.
• Hands-on experience with Claude Code or similar agentic AI coding tools.
• Strong understanding of modern software architecture (cloud-native systems, APIs, microservices).
• High ownership mentality.
• Strong communicator across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strategic thinker who also enjoys rolling up their sleeves.
