Role Description

The Credit Balance Specialist is responsible for facilitating the resolution of insurance and patient credit balances to enable patient satisfaction and compliance with federal or state regulations.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Research in the patient accounting system to achieve credit resolution
  • Perform root cause analysis and trending to identify recurring issues generating credits
  • Partner with other areas of the revenue cycle to communicate issues causing credits
  • Identify potential remediation steps to prevent credits from occurring in the future
  • Adhere to quality assurance metrics and productivity standards
  • Enable credit resolution metrics to be met
