Job Description
Role Description
Are you excited by the idea of reimagining how a public relations agency works using AI, automation, and smart workflows? Do you enjoy finding creative ways to transform time-consuming, repetitive tasks into efficient, automated systems? If so, Moxie Communications Group’s AI Operations & Automation internship could be for you.
You’ll spend up to 20 hours per week working closely with Moxie’s operations and leadership teams to identify opportunities where modern AI tools and automations can save time, streamline processes, and unlock new ways of working. You’ll help design, code, test, and refine workflows that support everything from research and data entry to reporting and content support, then train the full Moxie team to use them with confidence.
Successful candidates will bring hands‑on experience with AI tools, proficiency with automation platforms and scripting, strong communication skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for applying AI to the craft of public relations in a fast‑paced agency environment.
This position is part-time, remote, and candidates can be based in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Texas or California. This is a three-month internship role, with the potential to extend up to six months.
Responsibilities
- Implement AI-powered workflow solutions to streamline agency operations and help our team work more efficiently
- Support leadership team in building out our AI stack by demoing various AI tools and data sources and recommending use cases for PR
- Integrate AI optimization into our existing tech stack (Google Workspace, Slack, etc.)
- Train team on new AI workflows, tools and processes
- Monitor performance of AI workflows, troubleshoot issues, and iterate based on team feedback and evolving best practices
- Ensure that AI tools and processes adhere to Moxie’s AI usage policies
Qualifications
- Experience using modern AI tools (e.g. Perplexity, Claude, ChatGPT, other LLMs) and a genuine curiosity for exploring emerging platforms as they develop
- Familiarity with low-code automation tools (e.g. Zapier, Make, n8n), as well as APIs and scripting (e.g. Python, JavaScript, Google Apps Script) for more advanced automations
- Hands-on experience — or strong interest — in AI-powered development platforms such as Lovable, Cursor, Claude Cowork, or similar tools used to build and deploy lightweight internal apps and workflows
- Skilled with administrative office tools, including Google Workspace and Slack, with an eye toward optimizing how those tools are used
- Experience or interest in designing and delivering internal training — ability to translate technical concepts into clear, accessible guidance for non-technical teammates
- Strong research skills, leveraging AI and traditional tools to synthesize information quickly and accurately
- Foundational understanding of AI data privacy, security and ethics principles, and how they apply in a professional communications environment
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced agency setting, with strong organizational follow-through
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with close attention to detail
- A proactive, self-starting mindset with genuine enthusiasm for AI automation and a desire to apply it creatively within public relations and communications
Compensation
The expected hourly rate for this role is $20 - $30/hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
