The role involves acting as the primary liaison between North American ALMA software and computing teams and international partners to coordinate development efforts, ensure operational integrity, and align expectations across technical teams and management. The liaison will also work with international stakeholders to document and communicate technical project status, risks, resource allocations, and metrics for large-scale initiatives.

The primary focus is providing strategic and architectural leadership for the technology ecosystem supporting the scientific mission, defining the long-term technical direction for research computing, software systems, and data pipelines in collaboration with other architects. This role establishes architectural vision, technical standards, and integration principles across Platform Engineering, Networking, HPC, and Software Engineering teams to ensure mission systems are interoperable and scalable.

The primary focus involves designing and prototyping software for the ngVLA project, which includes refining requirements, designing systems, performing trade studies, and building prototypes. This role will also be directly involved in the early implementation and testing of key software features for the ngVLA and Radar projects.
