This role involves designing and building scalable, cloud-native data platforms on AWS to support scientific research, focusing on developing data pipelines, API-driven platforms, and machine learning workflows for complex datasets. The engineer will architect and implement secure, production-ready cloud data systems in collaboration with researchers and development teams.

The role involves architecting, developing, and supporting cloud-native data management, analytics, and machine learning solutions primarily within AWS to support scientific and geospatial data processing. The architect will own data architecture and data science user stories, leading technical efforts for API-driven hosting, processing pipelines, and machine learning workflows.

The Systems Architect III - AI/ML will design, develop, and deploy AI-driven solutions supporting internal innovation and federal mission needs, which includes designing architectures, writing production code, building data pipelines, and deploying models into secure cloud environments. Responsibilities also involve shaping solution strategies for proposals, developing prototypes, implementing LLM solutions like RAG, and contributing technical standards to the Center of Excellence.
