Job Description
Role Description
Responsible for design, analysis, testing, installation, and support activities for Epic related information system solutions as required that are developed or acquired as part of the overall hospital network of integrated computer systems.
- Help and consult enterprise departments with system application issues
- Serve as technical coordinator between departments and outside vendors
- Obtain in-depth knowledge of Epic software through training and certification
This position includes four Epic certifications - ADT/Prelude, Cadence, Grand Central, Eligibility, and Referrals. The Analyst is responsible for the scheduling and registration applications.
- Prior experience or knowledge in ambulatory and hospital revenue cycle workflows, scheduling, registration, patient accounting, HIM, eligibility, and/or authorization/precertification processes is a benefit.
- Areas that integrate with these applications include check-in, registration, benefits, referrals, bed management, and orders.
Qualifications
- Two to three years’ experience with Information technology application development, training, and implementation in a healthcare setting
- At least five years of Epic experience
- At least two Epic certifications and proficiency in assigned module
Requirements
- Completes assigned Epic certifications, training, projects, and testing
- Works closely with other EHR Certified Analysts for assigned applications
- Provides technical subject matter expertise and business process knowledge to project teams
- Assists departments/project teams in defining requirements for new systems
- Participates in vendor selection process including demonstrations and functional comparison activities
- Writes design specifications and completes system build/development tasks
- Completes unit testing of system components validating accuracy of build
- Participates in development and validation of training material
- Provides technical support to system end users
- Maintains software for assigned systems at supportable levels
- Monitors incident tickets and provides timely resolution
- Maintains detailed system documentation
- Leads analysis of current state and develops alternative solutions
- Develops project plans for small to medium implementations/upgrades
- Coordinates vendor selection activities and leads system design teams
- Develops comprehensive test plans covering organizational business processes
- Participates in coordination of go-live events
- Coordinates optimization activities proactively identifying improvements
- Communicates successfully at all levels of the organization
- Functions independently executing assignments with minimal oversight
- Participates in implementations having high complexity/organizational visibility
- Advises supervisor of progress on projects and any key issues
- Understands the Quality Assurance and Improvement Plan
- Coordinates change management and optimization activities for assigned systems
Licensure & Certification
- Epic certifications required
