Role Description

We are looking for a Director of Product Design to lead our core product experience.

You will be responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction, and driving design quality for a team of talented Product Designers. In this role, you will be a key member of a cross-functional leadership team, working together with your counterparts in Product Management and Engineering to guide the team to build products that address real customer needs. You will serve as a thought leader and partner, both internally and externally, championing design as a catalyst for strategic growth.

• Proactively plan, anticipate challenges, and envision the next steps, even when they’re not immediately clear.
• Inspire and lead, driving innovation, exploration, and a high-performance mindset while fostering continuous learning, curiosity, and a sense of urgency in delivering transformative results.
• Think strategically, framing designs within the broader customer experience, while also being adept at diving into detailed execution.
• Gain alignment by sharing work to stakeholders and executive leaders, facilitating review and gathering feedback.
• Act as a strategic partner, collaborating across departments to ensure design aligns seamlessly across the holistic user experience.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in Product Design with at least 5+ years of leadership experience with direct reports under your guidance and leadership, including hiring and developing talent.
• Demonstrated experience leading high-velocity Design teams to have meaningful impact on the customer and the business.
• Extensive experience leading consumer-facing Product Design design teams focused on native iOS and Android apps.
• Ability to create design direction and processes that balance small design iterations with larger experience changes to improve the end-to-end experience and achieve goals.
• A strong bias-to-action to address challenges, build and test products, and learn from failures and successes.
• Analytical approach to Design work, incorporating qualitative and quantitative insights to inform decision making and measure outcomes.
• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
