Role Description
Weber Gallagher has an immediate opening for an experienced Partner to join the General Liability practice group. The individual will be responsible for handling a wide range of general liability, defense litigation matters in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
- Analyze complex legal and factual issues and prepare well-reasoned legal recommendations to the client.
- Draft pleadings, answer written discovery, take depositions, and conduct arbitrations and/or trials.
- Communicate with clients, the court, witnesses, opposing counsel, and co-counsel while adhering to all deadlines.
- Some local travel for trials, court conferences etc. typically local to NJ and PA.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience, preferably in defense litigation.
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- PA and NJ active bar licenses, required.
- Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to travel mostly in NJ and PA for court or as necessary.
- Flexibility to work remotely from PA or NJ, with the ability to occasionally travel to our Philadelphia or NJ offices as needed (i.e. trial preparation, deposition, client meeting, etc.).
- Experience drafting pleadings, answering written discovery, taking depositions, and conducting arbitrations/trials.
- Demonstrated interest in liability defense with a strong preference for those with prior experience in liability defense such as motor vehicle and/or premises liability.
- Strong trial experience is preferred.
