Job Description
The Reporting and Analytics Product Owner is a driving force behind how we design, deliver, and evolve reporting across our financial product suite. This individual will play a crucial role in managing both standard and custom reporting across our financial product offerings. This position involves prioritizing and evaluating the tasks produced by software teams to guarantee the delivery of high-quality features and reporting functionalities. A key aspect of this role is to thoroughly understand reporting requirements, business needs, processes, and workflows. Additionally, the Product Owner will serve as a vital link between the Product, Professional Services, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- In alignment with the product vision, create and maintain a product backlog and continuously re-prioritize user stories that will provide the most customer or end user value
- Lead collaboration, facilitate sprint activities, and create and communicate requirements artifacts that translate business needs into executable requirements
- Ensures clear and comprehensive product documentation, including owning and updating reporting functional specifications
- Empowered to make decisions and actively advises delivery teams
- Perform and support end user release management and training
- Supports globally based Business Analysts and assist with the elaboration of epics into user stories
- Utilize project tracking tools to maintain and update project information (e.g., Jira).
- Collaborate with the Product Manager to identify and document the product vision, strategy, and project scope.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert, provide support for the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities
- Utilize solid analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into the application and operational requirements
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders, Leadership, and Product Managers as needed
- Mentor and coordinate with other Product Owners on strategies across areas of expertise; ensure that they are supported and coached when taking on assignments in new line of business, new level of project complexity, new project delivery methodology, joining the team, and transition plans are in place for swapping resources in in-flight projects
- Work with Product Managers to analyzing product management tool data and JIRA to identify trends, patterns, quick enhancements, gaps and prioritize accordingly
- Keep abreast with Agile/Scrum best practices and new trends
- Perform other duties, assignments, and/or special projects as time or circumstances necessitate
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and/or training
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst/Product Owner or similar role in product management
- In-depth knowledge of Agile process and principles
- Technical background with an understanding of reporting infrastructure
- Proficiency in Excel, including formulas, functions, pivot tables, and data visualization tools, preferred.
- Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to manage time and resources to meet assigned deadlines
- Creative thinker with a vision
