Role Description

The Mitigation Estimator specializes in creating detailed and accurate mitigation estimates remotely, utilizing MICA water mitigation software, Matterport scans, and photos from the on-site mitigation team. A key part of this role involves using DASH software for project management and documentation. This role is essential in ensuring that estimates are comprehensive, align with industry standards, and support the efficient execution of mitigation projects.

  • Generate precise and comprehensive mitigation estimates using MICA, supported by Matterport scans and on-site photos.
  • Use DASH software for documenting and managing the estimation process.
  • Ensure estimates meet Kustom’s profitability and operational excellence standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and on-site personnel to ensure accuracy.
  • Work with insurance adjusters to secure approvals for estimates and supplements.
  • Update and refine estimates in Xactimate and Symbility, complying with industry and organizational standards.
  • Provide detailed visual and documented evidence to support scopes.
  • Continually update knowledge on building codes/methodology, software updates, and best practices for accurate, competitive, and compliant estimates.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in estimation, with a focus on water mitigation.
  • Proficiency in MICA, Xactimate, and familiarity with DASH software.
  • Experience in writing estimates in Symbility is a plus.
  • Proven negotiation skills and success in obtaining insurance adjuster approvals.
  • Strong understanding of estimation processes and techniques.
  • Curious and detail oriented.
