Role Description

This role involves supporting the Design Director in developing compelling design solutions from early concept through design development.

• Design-focused support role working directly under the Design Director
• Key role in ideation, visualization, and translation of concepts into buildable models
• Collaborate closely, iterate quickly, and elevate ideas through strong technical and visual execution

Key Responsibilities

• Concept & Schematic Design
  • Develop architectural floor plans for high-end custom homes
  • Explore exterior massing studies and architectural language
  • Propose materiality concepts and facade studies
  • Contribute to site-sensitive design thinking
  • Assist in developing cohesive interior design concepts
  • Support material selections and interior architectural detailing
• Visualization & Presentation
  • Build detailed SketchUp models
  • Render designs using Enscape to communicate spatial quality and material intent
  • Develop polished client presentations using Adobe InDesign
  • Translate recorded client meetings into actionable design adjustments
• Technical Development
  • Assist in transitioning conceptual designs into Revit models
  • Support documentation modeling as projects move toward construction phases
  • Collaborate with the internal team to maintain design integrity throughout development

• Design ideas are clearly communicated through strong modeling and rendering
• Conceptual direction from the Design Director is interpreted accurately and elevated
• Client presentations are visually compelling and professionally structured
• Designs transition smoothly from SketchUp to Revit documentation
• Feedback is incorporated quickly and without friction

Qualifications

• Technical Skills
  • Strong proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Enscape, and Adobe InDesign
  • Ability to independently build a SketchUp model and produce high-quality renderings
  • Experience translating design intent into Revit models
• Design Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in high-end custom residential architecture
  • Strong portfolio showcasing exterior architectural designs and interior architectural or interior design concepts
  • Evidence of meaningful design contribution (not just production drafting)
  • Experience collaborating closely with a lead architect or design director
• Communication & Professional Fit
  • Very strong English proficiency (written and spoken)
  • Ability to understand fast-paced recorded client meetings with nuanced architectural language
  • Comfortable working in a support role under clear creative direction
  • Open to feedback and iterative design development
  • Detail-oriented and disciplined

• Architecturally strong in both concept and execution
• Comfortable refining ideas rather than owning final creative control

• Skilled at elevating presentations visually

• Highly organized and structured in your workflow

Preferred Background

• Degree in Architecture or related field
• 4–8+ years of relevant residential experience
• Experience working with U.S.-based architecture firms
• Exposure to luxury home design, custom estates, or architect-driven residential work

Portfolio Requirements (Mandatory)

• Portfolio showcasing both exterior and interior work
• Clear indication of their role on each project
• Examples of high-end custom residential design
• SketchUp models and rendered output examples
• Revit modeling samples (if available)
