Job Description
Role Description
This role involves being the first sales hire in the US for a Canadian company focused on plant-based protein manufacturing. You will work closely with the Canadian sales team to refine and co-create the sales playbook, with a focus on expanding the company's reach in the US market.
- Identify and qualify potential partners (restaurants, distributors, hospitality groups, etc.)
- Conduct in-person sales calls including live cooking demos of the product
- Build and maintain strong relationships in the food service industry
- Communicate consistently with each account to understand product reception and customer success
- Seek product feedback from restaurants and relay information to the R&D team
- Support new partners with training, resources, and ongoing support
- Set and achieve sales goals while adapting to changing circumstances
- Learn the nuances of your sales territory
- Share progress, barriers, and insights with senior leadership and the team
Qualifications
- 2-5 years of demonstrated experience in sales, revenue ops, or similar roles
- Comfortable cold-calling in person and over the phone
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in restaurants or kitchens is a big asset
- Ability to cook simple dishes with instruction to showcase product versatility
- Superb organizational and time management skills
- Creative problem solver who is responsive and solution-focused
- Ability to work independently
- Valid passport for occasional travel to Toronto, Canada
- Out-of-city travel may be necessary to generate leads and close accounts
