Role Description
Squarespace is looking for a marketing leader to create and guide the strategic direction and operational execution of our international expansion. The team you build will work cross-functionally to evaluate, launch, and develop new markets. You will drive product adoption and marketing strategy, growing Squarespace’s global presence in a thoughtful and scalable manner.
- Create high-impact local channel strategies and execute holistic marketing plans in partnership with marketing channel owners and agencies
- Evaluate, plan and launch Squarespace’s entry into new countries and languages, including leading market research and product/market fit tests
- Craft tailored product positioning and messaging that will resonate with key audiences
- Determine the optimal team structure, including potential agency partners, and grow the team for success in new markets
- Drive growth and impact across all major international KPIs: customers, revenue, conversion, marketing ROI, LTV, and retention
- Contribute to the Product roadmap for each country and language by providing insights, market research, and data to drive prioritization
- Maintain current knowledge of local cultural trends and media consumption patterns
Qualifications
- 15+ years of broad-based marketing experience, ideally in consumer tech or a closely related industry
- Proven success launching products in new markets without an existing presence
- Experience building and leading a high performing marketing team
- Collaborative approach, with experience influencing cross-functional teams in a complex organization
- Experience managing agency partners
- Deep knowledge across digital and traditional marketing channels
- Deep understanding of marketing measurement across: conversion lift studies, MTA (multi-touch attribution) and MMM (media mix modeling)
- Market research experience, and the ability to apply both qualitative and quantitative insights for maximum impact
- Experience working collaboratively with internal and external creative teams and owning the briefing and review processes
- Understanding of localization and how cultural perspectives influence go-to-market plans
- Comfort navigating through ambiguity in a dynamic environment
- Language ability in Spanish, French, or German is a plus
