Role Description

The VP, Director of Media Strategy and Planning is responsible for developing the strategic approach and leading all things media, including accurate budget control and the flow of media activity.

  • Lead all planning and delivery of integrated cross-channel media plans including both digital (programmatic, endemic, social, search) and traditional (TV, print, OOH) media.
  • Responsible for the full planning cycle from determining goals and objectives for media programs, developing budget recommendations, and modeling outcomes in order to reach those goals.
  • Lead a team of supervisors and planners in developing subsequent plans.
  • Work with the analytics team to align on a measurement plan.
  • Ensure the team is delivering, optimizing, and achieving client goals accordingly.
  • Lead via education and example, mentoring junior team members.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant agency experience in planning and buying media across both online and offline channels.
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a related field.
  • 3+ years of supervisory experience or related account management experience.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage to deadlines.
  • Demonstrated account leadership, initiative, and willingness to assume greater responsibility.
  • Direct experience with pharmaceutical (preferred) and/or healthcare advertising for both patients and physicians.
  • Knowledge of media planning and buying, third party tracking and ad serving technology, and audience and competitive research tools.
  • Experience with paid social and search strategy, a plus.
  • Understanding of and ability to explain full-funnel media campaigns.
  • Experience working within a full-service agency and/or client side preferred.
  • Understand the elements of a strategic marketing communications plan and be able to actively participate in its generation.
  • Understand all the steps necessary to complete each stage of a job.
  • Understand how to produce a comprehensive estimate.
  • Know how to present agency concepts to the client and guide client to well-considered responses and requests.
  • Ability to provide clear and logical direction on all work orders.
