Job Description
Role Description
This role involves building a career in international trade and customs compliance with a global logistics leader. After completing 6 weeks of onsite, instructor-led training, you’ll transition into a fully remote role with opportunities for advancement, skill development, and long-term stability.
- Review import documentation and troubleshoot discrepancies
- Classify goods using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule
- Ensure shipments meet federal regulatory requirements
- Communicate directly with customers, carriers, and international partners
What You’ll Do
- Prepare and process customs entries accurately and on time
- Review and audit commercial documents; identify and resolve discrepancies
- Apply correct HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) codes for duty assessment
- Communicate documentation needs with customers and foreign origins
- Coordinate freight forwarding and delivery with domestic and international carriers
- Submit customs entries via GBS-CM in a timely manner
- Scan and upload documentation into internal imaging systems
- Prepare reports, presentations, and database-driven analyses
- Maintain strong relationships with clients through proactive, clear communication
- Support weekend or holiday work on a rotational basis, as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent
- Basic understanding of U.S. customs operations, regulations, and government agencies
- Familiarity with HTS codes or tariff classification (preferred but not required)
- Strong computer skills and comfort with data entry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve documentation issues
Requirements
- 6 weeks onsite training (required)
- 6-month lock-in period after hire to complete all training
- 1-year product lock-in to maintain continuity and skill proficiency
- Must be available for potential weekend or holiday coverage based on rotation and business needs
