Job Summary: The Director, Marketing, is responsible for identifying, developing, and executing Fionta’s marketing and brand strategy to drive customer acquisition and revenue growth. This hands-on position owns the company’s end-to-end marketing strategy and execution, with direct accountability for lead generation, pipeline influence, brand stewardship, and marketing operations.
The Director of Marketing operates with a high degree of autonomy and is responsible for both setting direction and doing the work. Success requires strong judgment, and the ability to prioritize while managing a large volume of concurrent initiatives. This role includes ownership of the marketing budget and accountability for ensuring investments are aligned to revenue goals and company priorities.
The Director of Marketing works closely with Business Development, Delivery, Strategic Initiatives, and the CEO and COO to support company growth, profitability, and long-term positioning.
Campaign strategy, demand generation, and reporting
- Own and execute multiple concurrent marketing campaigns (typically 4–5 at a time), planned in H1/H2 cycles and aligned to company growth priorities
- Define campaign strategy, target audiences, messaging, KPIs, and success criteria in close partnership with Business Development and executive leadership
- Translate revenue goals into clear lead and opportunity targets, with an understanding of how marketing contributes to pipeline creation and influence over time
- Build and manage Salesforce campaigns to support accurate tracking of:
- Lead generation and qualification
- Opportunity creation and campaign influence
- Campaign costs, ROI, and performance trends
- Maintain clear, reliable Salesforce reporting and dashboards that provide visibility into:
- Campaign performance against goals
- Lead quality and conversion rates
- Pipeline influence by campaign and channel
- Deliver regular reporting and insights, including:
- Current-state snapshots of marketing performance
- Progress against campaign KPIs
- Analysis of what is working, what is not, and recommended adjustments
- Partner closely with Business Development on:
- Campaign planning and sequencing
- Pre- and post-campaign outreach strategy
- Lead follow-up processes and handoff expectations
- Continuously evaluate and refine campaigns based on performance data, capacity, and evolving business priorities
- Partner co-marketing
- Own the relationship with marketing employee(s) (approximately 5-7 major partners)
- Coordinate shared content creation (blogs, webinars)
- Lead planning efforts for in-person activations (happy hours, lunch and learns, etc.)
Events and field marketing
- Plan, manage, and execute approximately 10–13 conferences and industry events per year, with some years exceeding that number
- Determine event strategy, including attendance, sponsorship, and exhibiting decisions
- Own all aspects of event execution, including:
- Budgeting and logistics
- Liaising with event organizers and venues
- Booth planning, shipping, and on-site requirements
- Swag design, ordering, and distribution
- Partner coordination and co-hosted activities
- Presentation submissions, deck development, and rehearsal coordination
- Pre-event promotion, on-site presence, and post-event follow-up
- Ensure accurate lead capture, Salesforce hygiene, and post-event nurturing through Pardot
- Conduct post-event analysis, ROI tracking, and internal post-mortems
Brand, content, and communications
- Own Fíonta’s brand and visual identity across all channels
- Manage brand assets and ensure consistent, correct usage across the organization
- Ensure sales and delivery teams are equipped with current, accurate, and effective marketing and proposal materials
- Provide design direction and hands-on support for:
- Sales decks and presentations
- Campaign assets and collateral
- Marketing and proposal materials
- Create and manage a high-volume content calendar, including:
- 6–8 in-depth blogs per quarter
- Additional thought leadership and partner content
- Case studies from intake through publication and promotion
- Conduct internal interviews and collaborate with delivery and project teams to capture accurate, compelling stories
- Manage client approval processes for case studies and public-facing content
- Own all LinkedIn content and promotion
Website operations
- Own and manage the company website (WordPress), including:
- Publishing blogs, case studies, and new content
- Updating employee and company information
- Coordinating with developers as needed
- Manage vendor relationships, including SEO/GEO partners and freelance writers, designers, and developers
- Own marketing systems and tools, including:
- Salesforce
- Pardot
- Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
- Design and collaboration tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva, and similar platforms
What success looks like
- Marketing consistently supports revenue goals through qualified leads and opportunity influence
- Campaigns and events are well-executed, measured, and clearly tied to business outcomes
- Executive leadership has clear, reliable visibility into marketing performance and priorities
- Brand and messaging are consistent, professional, and aligned with Fíonta’s values
- Business Development and Delivery teams are well-supported with timely, relevant marketing assets
Required experience and skills
- Bachelors degree in communications or marketing or equivalent work experience
- 7 - 10 years advanced-level marketing experience with ownership of both strategy and execution
- Experience marketing professional services or consulting organizations
- Proven ability to operate independently with high accountability
- Strong experience with Salesforce and marketing automation tools
- Experience managing complex events and field marketing programs
- Excellent written communication and content development skills
- Strong visual and design judgment; hands-on experience with design tools is highly valued
- Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-changing environments
- Ability to prioritize effectively and manage a large, variable workload
Preferred experience
- Familiarity with the Salesforce ecosystem
- Experience marketing to nonprofits, associations, or mission-driven organizations
- Exposure to AI-enabled marketing tools and workflows
Travel and work environment
- Remote role within the United States
- Occasional travel for conferences, events, and internal meetings (approximately 10%)
- Majority of work performed at a computer
