Role Description

The Wolfram Institute seeks a General Project Manager to lead and coordinate a small, focused team within our research environment. The successful candidate will oversee project planning, execution, and delivery, ensuring alignment with the institute’s strategic goals and research objectives. Can be remote.

  • Manage daily operations of research projects, balancing timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among interdisciplinary team members, researchers, and external partners.
  • Track project progress, compile reports, and present updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate risks impacting project scope, schedule, or quality.
  • Support grant application processes and contribute to research dissemination strategies.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring best practices in project management are applied.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing projects in a research or academic setting.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to engage with diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving research priorities and dynamic team needs.
  • A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Need to be willing to work at odd hours and be available on weekends.
