Job Description
Overview
Our client, a leading health plan, is seeking an experienced Manager, Reporting & Analytics to lead a high-performing analytics team supporting both Maryland and Washington, DC operations. This role is responsible for overseeing the development, delivery, and quality of enterprise reporting and analytics that inform operational, financial, quality, and clinical decision-making across the organization.
This position reports to the Director of Data & Analytics and manages a team of approximately seven (7) analysts. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader who can translate complex data into clear, actionable insights and drive continuous improvement across reporting and analytics functions.
Work Location & Requirements
Fully remote, with candidates required to reside on the East Coast (EST time zone)
Travel onsite 1–2 times per quarter as needed
U.S. Citizenship or Green Card required
Comprehensive background check required (employment, education, drug screening)
Proof of flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of analytics professionals, setting performance expectations and supporting career development
Oversee the development and delivery of high-quality reports, dashboards, and analytical models for internal and external stakeholders
Manage report intake and prioritization processes to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent analytics delivery
Design and maintain dashboards and models to monitor operational, financial, quality, productivity, and clinical performance
Establish and enforce data quality and QA processes; troubleshoot data issues and implement enhancements as needed
Identify and implement process improvements and automation to increase efficiency and scalability of reporting
Partner with cross-functional teams including IT, Finance, Population Health, Case Management, Quality, Compliance, Provider Relations, and Member Growth
Translate business needs into KPIs, analytics solutions, and actionable insights that support health plan performance
Develop and maintain documentation including business requirements, data dictionaries, and analytics support materials
Present findings and insights to leaders in a clear, concise, and actionable manner
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Informatics, or a related field required
Master’s degree or MBA preferred
Relevant experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis
5–7 years of experience in reporting, analytics, data visualization, or data analysis, preferably in a leadership role
3–4 years of operational and/or clinical data experience required
Prior experience in a healthcare or health plan environment strongly preferred
Strong critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving skills
Ability to translate business needs into meaningful, actionable analytics
Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, SQL, and Tableau (MS Access preferred)
Experience designing dashboards and performance monitoring tools
Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and machine learning concepts (e.g., regression, clustering, decision trees)
Excellent communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
Compensation:
- This position offers a salary up to $150K (no bonus) plus benefits. Relocation support may be available depending on compensation needs.
