McKesson’s Strategic, Community & Specialized Pharmacy (SCS) is a segment within McKesson’s US Pharmaceutical Distribution (USPD) business that cultivates relationships across a diverse customer set of pharmacies. SCS pharmacy customers represent more than 22,000 pharmacy locations across the U.S. and account for more than $220 billion in revenue for McKesson. The segment delivers tailored, high-touch solutions to specialized care pharmacies, alternate sites, emerging pharmacy channels, independent community-based pharmacies, and national retail accounts, helping them navigate complexity and grow sustainably.

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our Project Management Office within the Strategy, Marketing, and Operations team. The Project Manager for the Strategic Planning PMO is responsible for the development / implementation of strategic projects requiring a high degree of department and/or cross-functional coordination within McKesson's Strategic, Community & Specialized Pharmacy (SCS) segment. This role will provide a single point of contact across the project lifecycle, including design, legal review, implementation, and ongoing evaluation. The Project Manager will oversee / coordinate all aspects of the project, including the development of detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, budgets, and status reports. The Project Manager will interface with key internal & external stakeholders, conduct project meetings and is responsible for project deliverables, including the management and review of vendor work / deliverables as needed. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for all aspects of leading development process for operational and business-related projects and pro-grams. 

  • Responsibilities must cover the process from design through implementation, evaluation, and release. 

  • Developing detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, budgets, and status reports. 

  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals. 

  • Interfacing with all areas affected by the project which may include customers, SCS subsegment internal groups and field resources client services and areas.  

  • Scheduling and conducting project meetings. 

Minimum Requirement

  • BS Degree or equivalent and 4+ years of relevant experience.

Certification

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred and will be required within the first year of employment). 

Critical Skills

  • Strong communication skills (verbal/written) 

  • Consultant experience prferred

  • 2+ years Project Management experience 

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills needed 

  • Strong business acumen and ability to be agile and adapt to change while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders in a matrixed environment 

  • Experience leading large, high visibility teams 

  • Health Care experience strongly preferred 

  • Proficiency in building project plans, using tools, such as Smartsheet, Microsoft Planner or Microsoft Project 

  • Demonstrates strong ability to lead and execute, mitigating risks (strong problem-solving skills) 

Specialized Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience with Power Automate and Power BI preferred

  • Consulting experience preferred

  • Experience managing indirect teams at all levels of an organization

  • Process improvement methodologies and effective change management experience preferred

  • “Self-starter” attitude with the ability to excel in dynamic work environment

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$85,400 - $142,400
