Qualifications
- RT (R), (CT), (ARRT), and BLS certifications, and state licensure where necessary.
- Ability to function as both a CT Technologist and X-Ray Technologist, performing examinations of patients of all ages.
- Demonstrates competency in PACS process and performs daily QA process.
- Effective communication skills and excellent patient care skills required.
- Proficient with all technical equipment in diagnostic modality.
- Properly uses radiation protection and shielding material to ensure compliance with federal and state guidelines.
- Must be up to date on all vaccinations as required for hospital employment and pass any needed health screenings, including drug screening and background check.
Requirements
- CT examinations and procedures that require the use of contrast agents.
- Managing patients during complex procedure exams.
- Use of portable X-Ray machine and other X-Ray equipment.
- Solve minor equipment problems for both X-Ray and CT.
- Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, and employees within the organization.
- Scan in and label documents appropriately and ensure images are released to radiologists promptly.
- Follow all radiation protection and dose reporting policies and processes.
- Assist other technologists when necessary to maintain productivity.
- Assist radiologist with imaging procedures, starting IVs, and injecting contrast, if applicable.
Physical Effort
- Must be capable of lifting 50-100 lbs, including patient lifting, positioning aids, portable ultrasound machines, and assisting with minor patient movements.
- Requires physical flexibility to bend, reach, twist, and adjust equipment or patients as needed.
- Requires prolonged standing or walking while performing scans, moving between patients, and positioning equipment.
- Physical endurance is essential to complete multiple consecutive scans.
