Role Description

This strategic leadership role is focused on optimizing market access for launch and established pharmaceutical products, ensuring they achieve broad coverage, patient affordability, and long-term commercial value. The Director, Market Access Strategy will develop integrated access plans, align cross-functional teams, and guide execution of initiatives across pricing, contracting, and patient support functions. The role requires close collaboration with product, marketing, and finance teams to translate market dynamics into actionable strategies. You will provide insight to executive leadership, influence decision-making, and ensure alignment across internal and external stakeholders. This position involves leading complex projects, managing multiple priorities, and fostering a high-performing environment that drives measurable business outcomes. The role is remote with approximately 15% travel.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for US and global product teams, ensuring market access considerations are integrated across functions.
  • Develop and execute 3- to 5-year market access strategies aligned with brand planning and product lifecycle goals.
  • Collaborate with marketing, customer engagement, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of access strategies.
  • Monitor market trends, payer dynamics, and healthcare policy developments to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Manage vendor contracts, budgets, and market research projects to support commercial objectives.
  • Communicate market access plans and updates to leadership, ensuring cross-functional alignment and accountability.
  • Foster a culture of talent development within the Market Access team, mentoring high-potential associates.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Health Policy degree preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing, market access, managed care, or related commercial functions.
  • Deep understanding of US healthcare system, payer dynamics, and pharmaceutical value drivers.
  • Proven success in commercial strategy execution and results delivery.
  • Strong analytical, influencing, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate a matrix organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple interdependent projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging diverse stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Strategic thinker capable of translating complex market dynamics into actionable plans.
