Job Description
Wheelhouse DMG develops and executes digital strategies that deliver exceptional business performance. Our work and our clients are varied but everything we do and every client we work with is focused on the same thing – creating business value. We do this by working in close partnership with our clients to gain a deep understanding of their businesses and then use data science, our team’s deep expertise and our own technology to surface and deliver on the most valuable opportunities for our clients – whatever they may be.
We’re known for an unusual combination of marketing savvy and technical expertise that produces compelling ROI for our clients. But we’re equally known for a few things we also consider sacrosanct – and perhaps even more foundational to our success:
- The transparency and helpful spirit with which we do our work
- The way in which we quickly become full partners in client marketing initiatives
- The care and thoughtfulness that we show our clients
Digital Advertising Senior Strategist (Paid Media/ Advertising)
The Digital Advertising Senior Strategist is responsible for developing sophisticated multi-channel digital advertising strategies that create exceptional business value for our clients. This includes the creation of media plans across multiple platforms, budget planning and pacing, ongoing analysis, testing and optimization of media strategies, performance insights, and client management. You will work closely with your entire practice, but especially with the Digital Advertising Analysts who are responsible for buying, activation and optimization on your accounts.
You’re experienced in Digital Advertising across Search and Social and are continuously looking to take your impact to the next level with new platforms and strategies. Strong proficiency with Facebook Ads Manager and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) platforms is essential for this role, as you’ll need to independently navigate these platforms and implement campaign optimizations. You will be reporting directly into the Managing Associate Director of Digital Advertising. You know the ins and outs of how campaigns run and get deep satisfaction and joy from delivering exceptional business value for clients. You’re self-motivated and get a thrill from beating your own past performance. You’re perpetually curious, you’re constantly learning, and asking how to push the envelope. You’re not afraid to fail but do so quickly and learn from the experience. You love to quarterback a team. You’re great at looking at the bigger picture to understand what needs to get done, and how to get there. You lead by example and are confident and capable of executing the strategies you propose.
What you will do:
- Learn your clients’ businesses as if they are your own including your clients’ internal priorities. Conduct stakeholder interviews, market and competitor research.
- Create bespoke digital media strategies for clients that are prioritized around driving business value and scaling. Develop a strategic roadmap of initiatives and work closely with your Digital Advertising team to implement.
- Craft a compelling story for client strategies that convey the value and importance of your recommendations
- Can speak to strategy and cascading tactics at a high (or Executive) level, as well as at a deep, in the weeds (Practitioner) level.
- Speak the language of data and can communicate that as easily with clients as you can our internal data team
- Craft clear agendas for internal and external meetings to ensure every meeting has a clear purpose and outcome.
- Lead presentation planning and creation for your clients, including working cross-department
- Stay up to date on the latest news and updates in the Digital Media space, as well as news and updates within a client’s industry, including their competitive landscape.
- Delegate tasks or follow-ups among team members, set deadlines, troubleshoot and mentor to ensure fantastic results.
- Surface wins internally and to clients.
- Work closely with content and creative teams, both client-side and within Wheelhouse, to ideate campaign assets that will make an impact. Test and report against content and creative assets.
- Develop unified strategies across Paid Search, Paid Social, and Programmatic Display channels. Research and develop campaigns for additional channels and platforms beneficial to your clients, including industry-specific and direct buys.
- Collaborate with channel experts, Managers, and team members to produce best-in-class digital campaigns. Advocate for cross-team initiatives to support client performance.
What you bring to the team.
- 5+ years experience managing and optimizing digital campaigns across Search Ads (Google / Microsoft), Social Ads (Facebook / LinkedIn)
- 5+ years managing media budgets across platforms and maintaining ROAS or CPA targets
- 4+ year of Google Analytics (or other web analytics) for reporting, conversion tracking, and attribution
- 4+ years of A/B testing experience on relevant ad platforms
- 4+ year in a client-facing role
- Experience developing multi-channel strategies that drive significant value
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with Advanced Excel Knowledge
- Financial, medical, and healthcare media management experience a plus
- Analytical and creative thinking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Detail oriented with extremely high standards for ensuring your client’s campaigns are “audit proof”
- Highly self-motivated and always looking for opportunities to improve and expand client campaigns and channels. Not afraid to try new things.
- Relentless drive to create value with a strong sense of urgency, empathy, and ability to prioritize appropriately
- Enthusiastic about mentorship and helping your team members grow their skills
- Able to have “kind truth” conversations to share critical feedback in kind but effective ways
Preferred:
- Programmatic experience
- Healthcare client background
- Retail client background
- Google Ads (Meta Certified is a plus)
- Additional channels such as Amazon, Yahoo, TikTok, OTT and podcast ads are a plus
Compensation Range
$120,000 - $140,000 USD
