Role Description
This role involves supporting pharmacy operations in a hospice setting.
- Process new prescriptions, refills, and discontinuations with a high level of accuracy
- Maintain complete and compliant patient medication profiles
- Respond to high-volume inbound calls from hospice partners, prescribers, and clinical staff
- Triage and resolve routine service inquiries, escalating complex issues appropriately
- Deliver exceptional customer service through clear communication and active listening
- Apply de-escalation techniques when supporting urgent or emotionally sensitive situations
- Meet service level, quality, productivity, and documentation standards
- Utilize pharmacy systems and internal tools to manage workflows and document activity
- Identify service issues and partner with operations leadership on resolution
- Participate in training, system updates, and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a healthcare setting
- A detail-oriented pharmacy technician who values accuracy and compliance
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a calm, empathetic approach
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, call-driven environment
- Experience working with pharmacy systems, patient records, or workflow platforms
- A customer-focused mindset with the ability to problem-solve efficiently
- Comfort handling sensitive patient and clinical information confidentially
- Adaptability to changing processes, systems, and priorities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to documentation standards
- A collaborative team player who partners effectively with pharmacists and peers
