Role Description

We are seeking a Director of Patient Strategy to lead the development and activation of patient-focused programs across the drug development and commercialization lifecycle. This role combines strategic thinking, deep patient insights, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure the patient voice is embedded in all engagements.

  • Guide teams in designing actionable, high-impact initiatives
  • Facilitate advisory boards, co-creation workshops, and journey mapping exercises
  • Translate scientific and behavioral insights into strategic recommendations
  • Drive measurable outcomes for patients, caregivers, and advocacy communities
  • Shape innovative programs in a supportive, fully remote environment
  • Lead patient-focused initiatives across multiple accounts
  • Ensure integration of patient perspectives into research, content, scientific exchange, and engagement programs
  • Facilitate co-creation sessions, advisory boards, ambassador programs, journey mapping, and patient education programs
  • Translate complex scientific, behavioral, and qualitative insights into actionable recommendations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including medical, strategy, creative, research, and account services
  • Build trusted relationships with patients, caregivers, advocates, and clinical experts
  • Oversee quality, compliance, and regulatory standards across all patient engagement activities
  • Identify growth opportunities, contribute to proposals, SOWs, and thought leadership
  • Represent patient strategy externally with advocacy organizations and industry partners

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in public health, psychology, behavioral science, biomedical sciences, communications, or related field preferred
  • 7–10 years of experience in patient engagement, insights, health communications, or related strategic roles within life sciences, pharma, biotech, agency, or advocacy environments
  • Proven experience leading multi-stakeholder programs that incorporate patient perspectives into medical affairs, commercial strategy, or clinical development
  • Strong understanding of the drug development lifecycle and patient insights’ role in shaping strategy
  • Ability to synthesize scientific, qualitative, and behavioral insights into clear, actionable strategic recommendations
  • Exceptional client-facing skills, communication, storytelling, and facilitation capabilities
  • Comfort engaging with patients, caregivers, and advocacy groups in sensitive, ethical, and compliant ways
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe, collaboration tools, and virtual meeting platforms
  • Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset with commitment to patient-centered thinking
  • Willingness to travel within the US and internationally (<20% expected)
