Job Description

The Planning & Evaluation, National Roundtables internship role will provide hands-on experience to support public health programming across the ACS national Roundtables. Guided by our team’s Director, Data and Evaluation, the intern will work alongside program directors, program managers, and evaluation staff to support:
• Evaluation and data analysis and reporting
• Public health communications and graphic design
• Partner engagement and outreach
• Program coordination and logistics
• Task-based project plans and activities
This internship position will provide a realistic, applied public health practice experience within ACS’s signature national partnership and convening model (ACS National Roundtables).
Responsibilities:
• Evaluation Support: Assist with data collection, analysis, literature reviews, and preparation of data summaries or visuals.
• Health Communications: Draft and edit content for social media, newsletters, websites, presentations, and other outreach materials.
• Program Planning and Implementation: Support development and/or execution of workplans, resource development, and project tasks.
• Program Coordination: Assist with meeting preparation, communication, documentation, and day-to-day project support.
• Cross-Team Support: Contribute to shared activities and internal collaboration with Roundtable teams.
Currently enrolled in a Master of Public Health or related graduate-level program.
Disciplines may include Public Health, Health Communications, Behavioral Sciences, Health Promotion, Health Policy, Social Work, Psychology, or related fields.
Technical Skills:
• Familiarity with public health program planning or evaluation concepts.
• Comfortable assisting with basic qualitative or quantitative data tasks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for communications and reporting tasks.
• Ability to work collaboratively and manage deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with Teams/SharePoint a plus.
• Interest in cancer prevention and control preferred.
Position Requirements:
- Must be available for entirety of 8-week program: June 1st – July 24th, 2026, at 37.5 hours per week.
- Full-time student, if you are an undergraduate student, you have completed your freshman year of college.
- Have a minimum of a B average (cumulative 3.0 on 4.0 scale).
- Plan to continue your education in the following term/semester.
- Upload a resume upon application submission.
- Note: an internship assignment may coincide with your last term/trimester as a full-time student, but the internship must be disengaged upon graduation.
The starting rate is $15 to $20/hour. The final candidate's relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
