Role Overview

As the Vice President of Engineering, you will be responsible for the highest-level technical decisions of the company. You are not just a manager; you are a "doer" who is excited to remain hands-on with code while architecting the frontier of AI-powered media. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will partner with Product and our Chief AI Officer to determine the technical direction of the business.

We are looking for a Senior Engineering Leader who can own and build the next-gen tech stack that enables our intellectual property to scale. You will lead the transition from experimental automations to a robust, scalable production system that can handle millions of transactions per day.

Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership & Strategy: Partner with product leadership to design and execute the product roadmap while determining the long-term technical architecture of the business.

• Hands-on Development: Maintain a hybrid role, contributing directly to the codebase while managing the engineering organization.

• System Scalability: Build the technology that facilitates a high volume of content production and supports diverse monetization streams, including licensing and subscriptions.

• AI Orchestration: Manage and evolve our AI-assisted code development and progressive agentic development orchestration.

• Team Building & Culture: Establish engineering processes (sprints, code reviews, deployments) and eventually hire and mentor a team of 3-10 engineers.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between the technical team and non-technical stakeholders, earning trust through clear communication and reliable shipping cycles.

• Operational Excellence: Ensure sustainable engineering velocity by systematically managing technical debt and making disciplined tradeoffs between speed and structural soundness.

• Remote Team Leadership & Organizational Alignment: Foster a strong, accountable engineering culture in a remote-first, distributed environment—creating clarity, trust, and ownership within the team while sustaining tight, collaborative relationships across functions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate is an obsessed builder who thrives at the intersection of AI and media. You should have a proven track record of shipping (not just architecting) complex systems in fast-moving startup environments.

Required

• Engineering Leadership: 5+ years of experience leading engineering teams, preferably in a 0→1 environment.

• Technical Mastery: Demonstrated technical breadth with the judgment to select and apply the right language for the right problem (e.g., Go for orchestration, Python for data/ML), and comfort operating in an AI-assisted development environment (e.g., Claude Code) as a primary coding interface.

• AI/ML Integration: Proven experience integrating AI/ML into production systems, specifically leveraging multi-agent AI orchestration.

• Media Tech Fluency: Familiarity with audio/video processing pipelines and media distribution (RSS, CDNs, platform APIs).

• Startup DNA: A "nothing is beneath me" attitude with the ability to manage ambiguity and move significantly faster than traditional production cycles.

• Automation Expertise: Deep expertise in building automation systems at scale, with a clear understanding of systemic risk and the judgment to design and implement appropriate safeguards, monitoring, and fail-safes.

• AI-Enabled Engineering Strategy: Actively track and evaluate the rapidly evolving agentic coding landscape, integrating relevant tools and practices to continuously improve engineering leverage, quality, and speed.

• Remote-First Experience: Proven ability to build and sustain a high-trust, high-accountability engineering culture in a remote-first, distributed environment, while maintaining strong cross-functional alignment.

Preferred

• Creative AI Experience: Familiarity with tools like ElevenLabs/Hume, HeyGen, Runway, or Midjourney.

• Social Platform Savvy: Background in building systems for YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram video production.

• Data Pedigree: Experience building data pipelines for content analytics and audience insights.

What Success Looks Like

• Success in this role means becoming a trusted member of the leadership team who "builds cool stuff at the frontier of AI".

• Within 30 Days: You will have developed a deep working understanding of our current architecture and automation stack, and built strong, trust-based relationships with cross-functional partners.

• Within 60 Days: You will be actively contributing to the codebase, operating in close partnership with Product on prioritization and execution, and delivering early, high-leverage improvements that build confidence across cross-functional stakeholders.

• Within 90 Days: You will have made and implemented critical architectural calls, contributed materially to shipped product, established a predictable delivery rhythm, and initiated team expansion where needed.

Ultimately, you will build the tech stack that enables Inception Point AI to reach a $500M valuation by scaling our personalities and content to the global stage.
