Role Description

The Director of Advancement spearheads TutorSmart's fundraising and community relationship-building initiatives, playing a crucial role in securing funding to support organizational sustainability and growth. This position is responsible for designing and executing comprehensive fundraising campaigns, cultivating and stewarding donor relationships at all levels, and securing major gifts.

  • Oversee and expand local and regional fundraising activities to support existing and future TutorSmart programs through corporate, individual, foundation gifts, and special events.
  • Cultivate connections with community leaders, potential donors, and partners to enhance the organization's visibility and impact.
  • Cultivate relationships with board members and leverage their connections for advancement initiatives.
  • Oversee fundraising databases and tracking systems, using trend analysis to inform development strategies.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of relevant work experience commensurate with the requirements of the job
  • Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) credential preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to problem solve
  • Great organizational and time management abilities

Requirements

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms, talk or hear, stand, walk and sit for long periods of time.
  • Working conditions are normal for an office environment and include operating a motor vehicle in a safe manner while attending scheduled meetings and events as required.
  • Implement data-driven fundraising strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of fundraising principles, ethics, and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Skilled at building and maintaining professional relationships
  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities
  • Commitment to ongoing professional growth and relevant continuing education
  • Must meet pre-employment requirements including background check
