Psychiatric Physician Assistant - Work from Anywhere in the U.S.!

Are you a passionate Physician Assistant looking for a unique opportunity to make a real impact? Rural Psychiatry Associates is seeking dedicated Psychiatric Physician Assistants to join our team-no relocation required! Live anywhere in the U.S. while providing critical mental health care to underserved rural and remote communities.

Why Join Us?

At Rural Psychiatry Associates, our mission is to bring high-quality psychiatric care to communities that lack easy access to mental health services. We serve over 250 sites across North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, Utah, Alaska, and beyond, reaching patients in hospitals, clinics, schools, and senior living facilities. As part of our team, you'll be providing care where it's needed most, making a direct impact on countless lives.

This is a rare and rewarding opportunity for candidates passionate about rural mental health. While experience in rural settings is a plus, it's not required-we value dedication, skill, and a commitment to our mission.

The Role: What to Expect

  • Flexible Location: Work remotely from anywhere in the U.S. (with reliable high-speed internet).
  • Travel Requirement: Minimum one week per month at assigned contracted sites. Current travel is to Alaska.
  • Comprehensive Team Approach: Work alongside experienced psychiatric physicians, NPs, PAs, and psychotherapists in a physician-supervised, team-oriented care model.
  • In-Depth Training: All candidates, regardless of prior experience, will complete our internal psychiatric education program, led by physicians with 175+ years of combined experience.
  • Full-Spectrum Psychiatric Care: Provide diagnosis, treatment, crisis intervention, medication management, supportive counseling, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and formulate treatment plans.
  • Provide mental health care for patients of all ages with psychiatric diagnoses.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary treatment team to develop individualized care strategies.
  • Administer medications, manage crisis situations, and monitor patient progress.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation.
  • Offer psychoeducation and support to patients, families, and caregivers.

What We're Looking For

  • Physician Assistant licensure (or eligibility) in North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, Utah, Alaska, or other future expansion states.
  • A license in your state of residence.
  • DEA number (or ability to obtain one).
  • Psychiatry experience preferred; Psychiatry Certification required when eligible.
  • Ability to travel at least one week per month.
  • Compliance with all required vaccinations (including COVID-19 and flu; no exceptions).

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • The chance to work with a close-knit, mission-driven team making a real difference in rural mental health care.

If you're ready for a meaningful career with flexibility, purpose, and impact, apply today!
