Job Description

Hi, we’re Big Human, a full-service creative agency partnering with ambitious brands to design, build, and grow thoughtful digital experiences. Our work spans strategy, design, product, and marketing for clients like Rockefeller Center, Gemini, Netflix, and beyond.

As we continue expanding our paid media capabilities, we’re looking for a freelance Paid Ads Specialist to support a current client engagement — with the opportunity to collaborate on future projects over time.

About This Project

For this engagement, we’re looking for someone to own Meta ads execution end-to-end, working closely with our internal marketing team.

Platform

  • Meta only (Instagram-focused)

Scope

  • Basic ads strategy
  • Account and campaign setup
  • Day-to-day management
  • Ongoing optimization
  • Weekly reporting and insights

What’s Not Included

  • Creative production (assets are handled by our design team)
  • Broader channel strategy beyond Meta

Meetings

  • 1 weekly client meeting
  • 1 weekly internal meeting

Logistics

  • Remote role
  • Strong preference for someone based in the Tri-State area (NY / NJ / CT), as we occasionally meet in person
  • General availability within 10 am – 6 pm EST

Budget

This is a one-month freelance engagement to start.

  • Month 1: ~$2,500-$3,000 (setup, launch, and early optimization)
  • If renewed: ~$2,000–$2,250/month ongoing, reflecting a lighter, steady-state scope

Compensation is commensurate with experience. Ongoing work is contingent on client renewal and performance, and final structure will be confirmed collaboratively if the project extends.

What You’ll Do

Paid Media Execution

  • Develop a clear, practical Meta ads approach aligned with campaign goals
  • Set up campaigns, ad sets, and tracking in Meta Ads Manager
  • Manage budgets, bids, and pacing
  • Monitor performance daily and flag issues or opportunities proactively

Optimization & Performance

  • Test audiences, formats, and placements within Instagram
  • Optimize toward agreed-upon KPIs
  • Make clear recommendations based on performance trends

Reporting & Insights

  • Provide weekly performance updates
  • Go beyond numbers: clearly explain what’s working, what’s not, and what you’d do next
  • Partner with our team to translate results into actionable insights for the client

Collaboration

  • Join weekly internal and client calls prepared and informed
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and proactively
  • Work closely with our strategists and designers to ensure ads are aligned with creative intent

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience managing Meta / Instagram ads
  • Comfortable owning campaigns independently
  • Strong grasp of targeting, optimization, and performance analysis
  • Clear communicator (especially when explaining results to non-ads specialists)
  • Organized, reliable, and responsive
  • Agency experience is a strong plus
  • Bonus: experience working across multiple clients or verticals

About the Ongoing Opportunity

While this role is tied to a specific project, we’re intentionally looking to build relationships with freelance specialists we can bring in again as client needs arise.
