Job Description

We are seeking a temporary People Partner, Operations to join our team for 12-18 months with the possibility to join in a permanent capacity. This role will be responsible for partnering with other members of our people team and supporting all areas related to payroll, benefits & leave, ensuring overall compliance from a HR perspective and supporting the HR systems to make sure we are running smoothly. We are seeking someone who is passionate about People Operations (Payroll, Benefits, data management, compliance and reporting, etc.) and will be committed to providing high-quality service to everyone you interact with.
This role is remote but must be based in the Eastern Time Zone, with a preference for candidates within commuting distance of New York City or Philadelphia.
Here are the things we want to hire you to do:
Payroll:
This role will be responsible for partnering with our people team and ADP ensuring payroll is completed accurately, timely and in compliance with local laws
Process, Reviews and audits payroll and third-party providers to ensure compliance with in-house policies, tax laws and statutory regulations
Support financial closing activities (monthly, quarterly & annually) as assigned
Monitor, evaluate and manage changing legal, tax and regulatory demands and their effects on processes and procedures
Provides assistance to ensure tax, audit, sox compliance, accounting expectations and obligations are fulfilled accurately by required deadlines
Lead the effort in tax compliance and state setup and maintenance
Partner with team and support broad-based payroll-related projects and initiatives
First point of contact for all payroll, ADP and benefits related questions to Oatly employees
Lead the global project for implementing payroll/benefits for Canada and Mexico
Benefits:
Support benefits enrollment with the help from the People team
First point of contact to respond to questions as they relate to HR policies, which includes but not limited Payroll, HR systems and benefits, escalate as needed
Leave administrator duties partnering with vendors and employees as needed
Partner with benefit providers to ensure data feeds between systems works as intended, automating information flow wherever possible
Compliance & Systems:
Perform regular audits of our people data (such as EEOC, I-9) and respond to reporting requests from regulatory agencies such as the Dept of Labor, Dept of Commerce, etc
Work with external auditors and internal colleagues to ensure SOX compliance
Staying abreast of updates and new employment laws applicable to our employee population
Sharing with the people and legal team and ensuring that Oatly remains compliant with any state/federal law changes
Ensure legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements and maintaining accurate records
Ensure all state unemployment rates are up-to-date, and registration for new states and municipalities as the need arises
Support annual HR compliance reports and audits as needed
Build as needed and maintain documentation and guides of current and future Operations processes and standard operating procedures for a streamlined user experience
Partner with other internal teams (e.g. Finance, IT, People Team ) to ensure data accuracy, and to drive a positive employee experience throughout continuous improvement
Assist with processing employee changes in our HRIS, such as changes to salary, managers, job information, promotions and employee offboarding transactions; and ensuring we have a complete, and accurate data records on employees at all times
Support the reporting and management of the ADP learning platform, Global harassment and Docebo trainings for employees
Other duties as assigned
People Business Partner:
First-level support for employee questions of assigned business units as needed
Here are the things we think you need:
Bachelor's Degree required
Must have 5+ years of HR experience focused in payroll, tax, compliance and benefits
Preference will be given to candidates who have built out payroll/benefits systems in partnership with vendors in Canada and Mexico
Ideal profile will have strong excel reporting skills and have the ability to build out reports for the people and finance team as needed
Strong demonstrated knowledge in systems and process mapping is critical for success in this role
Must have strong MS office skills
2+ year’s experience working with ADP in a processing payroll function
2+ year’s experience with Workday and/or other similar HRIS system
Ideal candidate will enjoy creating SOP’s and generating automations to improve efficiencies
Ownership mentality who thrives in an ambiguous environment
Collaborative, responsive and organized
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
High degree of professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information

The salary for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. Compensation may also include bonus, commission, or equity as applicable. Our good faith estimate for base salary is $125,000.
