Role Description
The AVP of Distribution & Logistics is an enterprise executive leadership role with systemwide accountability for distribution, logistics, and supply chain execution across all clinical and nonclinical locations. Reporting to the VP / Chief Supply Chain Officer (or equivalent senior supply chain executive), this role provides strategic, financial, and operational leadership for all distribution and logistics activities supporting Intermountain Health.
- End to end accountability for distribution operations, logistics strategy, channel strategy, planning and forecasting, and technology and automation.
- Ensures reliable supply, optimal cost, and scalable infrastructure to support current and future system growth.
- Oversees all Supply Chain Center (SCC) operations, including distribution, warehousing, inventory management, and associated facility operations.
- Serves as the executive owner of the system’s self-distribution and logistics operating model.
- Partners closely with executive leaders across clinical operations, finance, procurement, and digital technology.
- Preferably based within the Intermountain market areas (Utah, ID, NV, MT, or CO) to strengthen collaboration, visibility, and alignment with enterprise initiatives.
- May consider a remote model with extensive travel required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or an equivalent combination of education, training, and demonstrated senior executive leadership experience.
- Extensive senior leadership experience leading large-scale distribution and/or logistics operations with enterprise level scope and accountability.
- Proven experience overseeing complex, high volume distribution operations, including warehousing, transportation, inventory management, and facility operations across multiple sites or regions.
- Demonstrated success building and leading management and senior level leaders within complex, operationally intensive environments.
- Strong executive business judgment with a demonstrated ability to drive large-scale operational transformation, continuous improvement, and cost optimization.
- Executive level verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proficiency with standard business technologies and executive reporting tools.

- Lead enterprise distribution and logistics strategy, including long term network design, optimization, governance, and evolution of the self-distribution and logistics operating model.
- Provide executive oversight of distribution and logistics operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and reliable performance.
- Direct logistics network execution and partnerships, establishing performance standards, KPIs, and governance.
- Define and govern enterprise channel strategy, balancing self-distribution, distributor partnerships, and alternative fulfillment models.
- Oversee enterprise planning, forecasting, and capacity management.
- Serve as executive owner of distribution and logistics technology and automation.
- Provide financial stewardship and enterprise leadership, with accountability for operating budgets and capital investments.
