Role Description

We are looking for a Risk and Compliance Specialist to join our fraud, risk, and compliance team. In this role, you’ll help monitor compliance with payment regulations, support fraud prevention initiatives, and assist in strengthening operational processes to protect our Giving Community. You’ll gain hands-on experience with risk assessment models, compliance frameworks, and fraud detection tools while collaborating with teams across Givelify.

Your team: The Risk and Compliance Team safeguards trust and security at Givelify. You’ll work alongside fraud analysts, compliance specialists, and risk professionals to ensure a secure and compliant payment ecosystem. Partnering with engineering, product, data science, legal, and customer support, you’ll contribute to proactive fraud prevention strategies and compliance efforts. You’ll report to the Director of Risk and Compliance.

The Risk and Compliance Specialist will get to:

  • Support execution of our risk and compliance strategy by monitoring fraud trends, compliance requirements, and transaction security.
  • Ensure compliance with payment regulations & standards.
  • Stay current on key regulations (PCI DSS, AML, KYC).
  • Assist in developing and maintaining compliance policies and procedures.
  • Help conduct audits and reviews to identify compliance gaps.
  • Support fraud prevention & risk mitigation.
  • Review payment transactions and investigate suspicious activity.
  • Use fraud detection tools and monitoring systems to escalate risks.
  • Collaborate with fraud and risk teams to identify patterns and emerging threats.
  • Contribute to operational efficiency.
  • Document processes and recommend workflow improvements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to streamline fraud prevention and compliance efforts.
  • Assist in coordinating with third-party processors and service providers to maintain secure operations.

To be successful in this role, you’ll also:

  • Monitor regulatory updates and assist in applying them to internal policies.
  • Analyze transaction data to detect fraud risks and escalate them appropriately.
  • Work with senior team members to implement preventive controls.
  • Support compliance reporting, training, and communication across the company.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to be proactive, and data-driven, ensuring that fraud detection mechanisms are effective, compliance requirements are met, and payment processes remain secure. Your ability to analyze risks and collaborate cross-functionally will be key in driving trust and security within the payment ecosystem.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience in payment processing, compliance, risk management, or fraud prevention.
  • Familiarity with payment industry regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, AML, KYC).
  • Certifications (e.g., CAMS, CFE, CIPP) are a plus but not required.
