Role Description

C.H. Robinson is seeking a passionate Food Safety Specialist to help protect the integrity of our global produce supply chain. In this role you will manage supplier approvals and renewals, oversee regulatory and responsible-sourcing compliance, and serve as a key connection point between suppliers, customers, and internal teams. You will work hands-on in critical systems, lead consumer care investigations, and support audits that ensure our products meet rising customer and industry expectations. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in risk assessment and approval of new growers, commodities, regions, and distributors as required
  • Assess and maintain new and existing grower, supplier, and distributor’s current food safety program
  • Build and maintain new and existing grower, supplier, distributor, and Robinson Fresh Service Center profiles in the Food Safety database
  • Support FSMA compliance including – Preventive Controls, FSVP, Produce Safety Rule and Sanitary Transportation
  • Monitor compliance status for suppliers
  • Maintain compliance via appropriate documentation in Robinson’s food safety database
  • Evaluate the efficiency of data controls and improve them continuously
  • Proactively monitor and identify non-conformity issues with growers, distributors, and suppliers and suggest actions for compliance
  • Prepare reports for internal management and external customers as appropriate
  • Apply data visualization principles to develop and present analysis in a clear, simplistic, and impactful way
  • Respond to consumer care/customer responsibilities including but limited to email correspondence, troubleshooting issues, etc.
  • Assist in the review and approval of regulatory labeling requirements for Robinson Fresh brands

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, biology, chemistry, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of Food Safety experience
  • Flexibility with schedule as needed including the ability to work beyond normal business hours and weekends

Strongly Preferred

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Working knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices (i.e., GAP, GMP, HACCP, GFSI and FSMA)

Preferred

  • Produce experience a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize required, critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to motivate and encourage change, able to get positive results in a very large, dispersed organization
