Overview

World Travel Holdings is seeking an experienced IT Product Owner to join our Business-to-Business (B2B) Division supporting Dream Vacations and CruiseOne. This role operates within a hybrid delivery environment, partnering closely with the Product Manager to execute the product roadmap and deliver digital applications across our cruise, land, resort, and broader leisure portfolio. The Product Owner is responsible for owning and refining the product backlog, translating business needs into clear, actionable user stories, and ensuring Scrum teams deliver high‑quality solutions that enhance the customer experience. This role is critical in aligning stakeholders, clarifying priorities, and ensuring delivered solutions are valuable, usable, and technically sound. While the Product Manager defines product vision and strategy, the Product Owner is accountable for day‑to‑day execution and delivery of roadmap initiatives.

Responsibilities

Ownership, Scope & Delivery 

  • Support product and project initiatives by identifying and analyzing business needs, contributing to effort estimates, defining scope and objectives, and collaborating closely with business users. 
  • Own, maintain, refine, and prioritize the product backlog for assigned domains in alignment with product vision and business strategy. 
  • Partner with Business Analysts and Scrum team members to create clear user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, and process flows. 
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers to ensure backlog items align with strategic objectives and measurable outcomes. 
  • Participate in and support Agile ceremonies including backlog refinement, sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. 
  • Partner with UX, Engineering, QA, and Training teams to ensure releases are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards. 
  • Work with the Training team to identify and support training requirements for system releases, including “train‑the‑trainer” needs and supporting materials. 

 

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication 

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, operations, and technology partners to understand requirements and translate them into actionable work items. 
  • Clarify scope, manage dependencies, and balance trade‑offs between time, scope, and quality. 
  • Produce and maintain supporting artifacts as needed, including process diagrams, functional descriptions, and interaction notes, to ensure shared understanding across teams. 

 

Platform & Domain Expertise 

  • Build deep knowledge of travel booking workflows, including but not limited to prospecting, search, fare rules, booking, passengers, itineraries, cancellations, and refunds. 
  • Develop a strong understanding of the technical ecosystem, including front‑end experiences, back‑end services, core APIs, and integrations with third‑party travel systems. 
  • Partner with Engineering and QA to ensure backlog items appropriately address scalability, security, performance, and usability considerations. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned products and domains. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 
  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or similar role supporting complex digital or technical products; travel or hospitality experience strongly preferred. 
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, SDLC, and tools such as Jira, Scrumwise, or equivalent. 
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams. 
  • Working knowledge of web technologies, APIs, and data flows; experience with booking or reservations systems is a plus. 
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training and business events. 

 

Compensation and Benefits

Estimated Pay Range: $95,000 - $125,000
