Role Description
As a Staff Engineer in Ads Lift Measurement, you will play a pivotal role in designing and building the technical foundation that allows advertisers to accurately measure and optimize the impact of their campaigns. You will lead complex projects end-to-end, from architecture and implementation to deployment and maintenance, ensuring scalable, reliable, and high-performance systems. Collaborating with product managers, data scientists, and engineers, you will influence technical strategy, mentor teammates, and deliver solutions that directly enhance advertiser outcomes. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving ambiguous problems, building robust distributed systems, and shaping the technical direction of high-impact measurement products. You will be part of a data-driven, collaborative environment focused on experimentation, innovation, and measurable results.
- Lead the full lifecycle of Ads Lift Measurement features, including architecture, development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
- Enhance measurement capabilities for advertising campaigns, including Split Tests, Conversion Lift, and Brand Lift.
- Build automated systems for data validation, randomization checks, diagnostics, and continuous verification/backtesting.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to define long-term technical strategy for measurement products.
- Mentor and guide engineers, fostering technical growth and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Evaluate and adapt emerging technologies and innovations to improve product capabilities and infrastructure.
- Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and maintainable to support large-scale experimentation and analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with backend or data-intensive systems.
- Domain knowledge in Ads technology, experimentation methodology, and causal measurement.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, Java, or C/C++.
- Strong expertise in system design, distributed systems, algorithms, and data structures.
- Deep understanding of experimentation fundamentals, including randomization, holdouts, confounders, statistical significance, and power.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives and influencing technical strategy.
- Mentorship experience and ability to elevate the performance of engineering teams.
- Familiarity with ML development and applied data science is a plus.
