DOE Project Manager - Multi-Site
Location: Smyrna, TN (Required travel to multiple DOE sites; remote assignment possible for the right candidate)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced DOE Project Manager to lead and coordinate multiple projects across various Department of Energy (DOE) sites. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with DOE standards, maintaining cost and schedule performance, and delivering complex projects successfully. The position is based in Smyrna, TN, with regular nationwide travel. Remote work may be considered for highly qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee project execution across multiple DOE sites, ensuring compliance with DOE Orders (including DOE O 413.3B) and applicable federal regulations
- Develop, manage, and maintain project execution plans, schedules, and budgets
- Lead Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) consisting of federal staff, contractors, and key stakeholders
- Monitor cost, schedule, and scope baselines and implement corrective actions as necessary
- Ensure Earned Value Management (EVM) compliance and provide financial oversight
- Manage risk identification, mitigation strategies, and change control processes
- Prepare and present project status reports and briefings to DOE leadership
- Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and ensure contract and regulatory compliance
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- PMP certification preferred
Experience
- Minimum of 8 years of project management experience, preferably supporting DOE or other federal projects
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-site projects valued at $20M or more
Skills
- Strong working knowledge of DOE Orders and federal project governance
- Proven leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Proficiency with Earned Value Management (EVM), risk management, and scheduling tools
- Cost estimating experience for large-scale projects preferred
