Job Description
Role Description
We are seeking an exceptionally driven and autonomous individual to lead the identification and acquisition of new, high-value, high-impact partnerships (across both the private and public sectors). This critical role requires a proactive builder who can define strategy, establish structure, and rapidly convert strategic opportunities into significant growth momentum.
Responsibilities
- Strategic Partner Identification & Sourcing: Proactively research, evaluate, and prioritize potential partners across both commercial and public sectors, ensuring rigorous alignment with Placer.ai's strategic goals for vertical and channel expansion.
- End-to-End Deal Negotiation & Closing: Take full ownership of the partnership lifecycle, from initial high-level outreach and qualification through to the negotiation and final execution of complex contracts, terms, and agreements (e.g., reseller, data sharing, workflow integration).
- Public Sector Channel Development: Specifically target and secure strategic reseller agreements (e.g., NASPO SVAR, OMNIA) with key government agencies and entities to rapidly develop and scale the public sector channel.
- Commercial Innovation Partnerships: Cultivate partnerships with leading commercial players to drive deep workflow integration (e.g., Alteryx, Snowflake, Databricks), penetrate high-potential emerging verticals (e.g., Advisory Board, NielsenIQ), and enable multi-signal embedded solutions (e.g., AI platforms, consumer applications).
- Cross-Functional GTM Leadership: Collaborate intensively with internal product, engineering, sales, and customer success teams to architect and launch successful partner-led growth initiatives, ensuring seamless onboarding and technical integration.
- Joint Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive joint GTM plans with new partners, including sophisticated co-marketing and co-sell programs designed to deliver measurable and substantial revenue impact.
- Performance and Impact Tracking: Define rigorous partnership metrics, track performance against strategic goals, and report actionable insights to executive management, utilizing data and analytics to optimize outcomes and inform future partnership strategy.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree required
- 8+ years experience working within partnerships/sales
- Proven, hands-on experience in strategic partnerships, channel sales, or business development within a SaaS or technology ecosystem, with a clear track record of successfully building and scaling new, complex partnerships from inception.
- Channel Expertise: Strong working knowledge of indirect sales channels and deep familiarity with public sector procurement and reseller mechanisms.
- Executive Presence & Negotiation: Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship-management skills, capable of effectively engaging and influencing stakeholders from technical teams up to the C-suite level.
- Autonomy & Agility: Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, fluid, and entrepreneurial environment, managing multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously and consistently exercising sound independent judgment.
- Analytical Acumen: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with direct experience in financial modeling and driving data-informed partnership decisions.
- Domain Expertise (Preferred): Deep experience selling or licensing data products and a solid understanding of location analytics is a significant advantage. Domain expertise within Placer.ai's core verticals (retail, commercial real estate, finance, government) is a strong plus.
