Job Description
Role Description
The Media Technology Platform Lead reports to the Head of Media Operations & Technology and will lead the delivery of Media Enterprise Services that support NBA’s Direct-to-Consumer and Business-to-Business initiatives. The position focuses on leveraging advanced AI-driven platforms to transform content creation, management, and distribution, while modernizing the media enterprise and integrating cutting-edge technologies into NBA’s digital ecosystem. Key priorities include reimagining content tools and workflows—such as the media archive, Digital Media Management systems, and logging software—to ensure they are optimized for next-generation AI capabilities.
The individual will partner with product, engineering and content operations staff responsible for designing, developing, and operating a multi-tiered architecture stack that combines proprietary and vendor-supplied components. This role drives the design and deployment of NBA’s enterprise infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and efficiency in delivering Media Enterprise Services across both DTC and B2B platforms. A critical focus will be integrating AI technologies to enhance automation, personalization, and workflow efficiency, while setting high standards for technical excellence and executing large-scale engineering initiatives that enable world-class user experiences.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned technology leader with deep expertise in platform engineering and enterprise-scale architecture design. Combining technical proficiency with strategic vision, this individual will leverage AI-driven solutions and modern cloud-based architectures to transform media operations. Strong communication skills and executive presence are essential for influencing stakeholders and guiding global teams through complex initiatives. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to inspire high-performing teams, foster innovation, and deliver robust technical platforms that support NBA’s mission to produce the highest-quality products for its DTC and B2B audiences.
