Role Description
X-energy LLC is hiring an experienced Planning & Scheduling Senior Manager. This position is responsible for leading the planning and scheduling team within the project controls department and is responsible for overall planning and scheduling processes, procedures, toolsets, and serves as a subject matter expert across the organization. Responsibility includes overseeing multiple levels of personnel, who establish, implement, monitor, and carry out the various programs/projects planning and scheduling activities. A key objective is to develop and operate a team that will establish, implement, and monitor best practices/guidelines of project controls (planning and scheduling) across the organization in support of current and future programs/projects along with supporting department leadership with defining and implementing the strategic direction of the department.
Tasks/Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the entire planning and scheduling team, processes, procedures, and toolsets within the project controls department, including but not limited to scoping, approval, hiring/recruiting, and managing resources and their related corporate/administrative tasks (PDs, PARs, timesheets, trainings, performance reviews, etc.).
- Provide oversight and strategic guidance to the planning and scheduling team for the effective and timely execution of tasks in hand and facilitate project controls resources’ optimization to meet deadlines for deliverables.
- Establish, implement, and monitor best practices/guidelines related to planning and scheduling across the organization in support of current and future projects.
- Support Business Development (BD) team/efforts with project controls needs during initial engagements with future clients, proposals, and future projects’ initiation and planning phases with use of independent judgement and minimal oversight.
- Ensure effective communication plans between planning and scheduling team and each individual project/team or functional organizations.
- Define the strategic vision related to training needs; establish and conduct project controls trainings to the organization’s internal resources and individual project teams as needed.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the project controls department in collaboration with department senior leadership.
- Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in management, business, engineering, science or related discipline from an accredited university or college.
- Typically, twelve years of project controls and management supporting large and complex organizations/programs/projects and working within Project Management Office (PMO) environment.
- Experience using software applications for schedule management (e.g., Primavera P6).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in the nuclear, federal defense, and/or federal energy industries.
- Experience working with the DoD or DOE.
- The ability to develop, define, and deploy processes to improve the overall planning and scheduling function.

Work Schedule
Ideally, 5 days a week in office. This position is remote eligible.
Travel Expectations
Up to 10% as needed.

8:00am-5:00pm, Mon-Fri
Compensation
As required by Maryland and other applicable state law, X Energy, LLC (X-energy) lists the expected compensation range for a publicly advertised job opportunity based upon the job requirements (e.g. education/training, experience, skill sets, etc.). A reasonable estimate for this position at the level of experience required is: $146,475 - $244,125.
