Role Description
The successful Human Services Program Supervisor will have oversight for a team of eight Human Services Program Consultants and must live in the South Central region of the state or contiguous to the following counties: Mecklenburg.
- Supervise Consultants responsible for licensing child care centers and homes.
- Achieve and maintain compliance with applicable child care licensing requirements.
- Investigate reports alleging violations of requirements.
- Manage child care requirements interpretations and communicate new Regulatory Section initiatives, policies, and procedures.
- Support child care consultant teams by providing consistent training, remediation, and modeling according to an established development plan.
- Work independently from home and manage work effectively.
- Handle difficult people in stressful situations while maintaining a calm, professional demeanor.
- Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
- Coordinate closely with various stakeholders including the Regulatory Services Assistant Director, Senior Managers, and other Division staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in child development, early childhood education, special education, social work, or related human services area from an appropriately accredited institution.
- Four years of experience in a child care or related setting involving the coordination, evaluation, or administration of a comprehensive program of child care services.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may also qualify.

- Experience in a child care or related setting involving coordination, evaluation, or administration of child care services.
- Experience in providing technical assistance and consultation in child care program administration and child development.
- Experience in supervising professional level staff and projects is essential.
