Role Description
As a Staff Solutions Architect on the Growth team, you will serve as the key technical advisor for prospective and existing clients, guiding them through the adoption of complex application platforms. This role focuses on the Western region and involves collaborating closely with engineering and sales teams to demonstrate the value of cloud-based solutions. You will assess client architectures, provide design guidance, and position solutions against competitive technologies, ensuring adoption and expansion in production environments. Your influence will directly impact client success, technical strategy, and revenue growth. This position blends technical expertise, strategic thinking, and relationship management to drive high-impact outcomes for clients and internal stakeholders alike.
- Serve as the primary technical advisor for customers and prospects in the Western region, guiding solution adoption and platform integration.
- Evaluate client applications for technical fit, providing architecture guidance and design recommendations.
- Educate clients on platform capabilities, limitations, and best practices to maximize value.
- Collaborate with Account Executives to develop and execute account strategies and technical plans.
- Influence production adoption, expansion, and positioning against competing technologies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with technical decision-makers, ensuring ongoing alignment with client goals.
- Travel as needed (~25%) to meet with clients, attend events, and support adoption initiatives.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a technical solutions architect or similar role, ideally in SaaS, cloud, or distributed system environments.
- Strong knowledge of distributed systems, application design patterns, and production operations considerations such as security, reliability, performance, and cost.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages supported by the platform (Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, C#, PHP).
- Experience with cloud platforms and development services (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).
- Exceptional technical communication skills, including presenting, whiteboarding, and documentation.
- Ability to partner with engineering teams and guide clients on architectural decisions.
- Strategic thinking with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to influence both technical and business outcomes.
- Preferred: prior experience in developer-focused platforms, open-source communities, or customer-facing technical roles.
