Role Description

The psychiatrist (MD) supporting this position will support the program by evaluating personnel as well as providing accurate reports in compliance with mission standards and requirements. Essential duties may include:

• Provide reports of evaluations, ensuring to include all necessary elements such as:
  • Sources of Information (PSF, etc.)
  • Discussion/evaluation data (including evaluation of data received by DOE and if the report can be released directly to the subject)
  • Mental status examination and results
  • Interview information pertinent history (mental health, alcohol, drugs, behavior, financial, etc.)
  • All included testing and results
• Analyze personnel test results, including:
  • Any psychological and/or laboratory test results
  • Interpretation/analysis of those test results, including but not limited to:
    • Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI)
    • Phosphatidylethanol (PEth) tests
    • Urinalysis
    • Drug testing
    • Alcohol testing
• Professional interpretation of results, conditions, or determining factors.
• Provide personnel summaries, including diagnosis and professional opinion regarding any rehabilitation and reformation.
• Adhere to and deliver discussion of criteria used (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, DSM-5 or other diagnostic manual).
• Draft, review, and implement evaluation questions, providing detailed answers/descriptions posed by DOE in the request letter.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Must be a psychiatrist (MD).
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Energy “Q” clearance.

Requirements

• Seven to ten (7-10) years of related experience, preferably with the DOE.
