Role Description
The Mortgage Banker position is included in a workplace model that allows remote work.
- Develop and maintain internal and external relationships including realtors, brokers, builders and other centers of influence.
- Originate conventional, FHA, and VA mortgage loans as needed.
- Maintain pipeline to support activities including meeting production goals for both booked business and referrals.
- Work closely with loan processors and underwriters to expedite transactions.
- Provide constructive, consultative feedback and make recommendations as a trusted advisor to clients and prospects.
- Cross sell and refer products and services identifying opportunities for products and services offered by the entire organization.
- Participate in bank promotions and partner with Branch Staff to promote and develop a full-service financial services relationship for customers.
- Practice and live STAR’s Sales and Customer Service Culture every day.
- Mentor and coach staff within region on product and sales processes for mortgage lending.
- Maintain knowledge of all products offered and have a comprehensive understanding of the benefits and solutions provided by each product.
- Attend and participate in company meetings and training programs.
- Maintain activities and participation in community and/or social organizations. Serve as an ambassador for the bank.

- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Extremely attentive to detail and customer follow up.
- Highly motivated, disciplined, and self-directed but able to also operate as part of a team.
- Successfully operate in a deadline driven environment.
