Role Description

As the Accountant II, you are a direct contributor to the financial statement close process for the corporate general ledger accounting team. You will be responsible for month-end closing tasks such as:

• Accrual and deferral journal entries
• Balance sheet account reconciliations
• Various other ad hoc corporate accounting tasks
• Assisting with various reporting activities for various internal customers

Key responsibilities include:

• Month End Closing:
  • Ownership of assigned areas in the general ledger
  • Prepare journal entries in accordance with US GAAP, including preparation of appropriate supporting documentation that meets SOX requirements
  • Ownership of assigned balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Assist with other projects on an ad hoc basis
• Internal Control and Audit support:
  • Provide support for internal and external audits/reviews in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley procedures which supports an effective system of internal control
• Financial Reporting:
  • Perform analysis of financial results by querying financial data and creating reports
  • Assist in the preparation of various internal reports for management and other internal customers

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
• 2-4 years of experience in either public accounting or corporate accounting setting required
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office products with an emphasis on Excel
• Experience with enterprise resource planning systems such as JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle, etc.
• Excellent attention to detail with focus on analytical skills
• Solid understanding of US GAAP
• Strong communication ability to partner cross-functionally with other teams
• Some mental visual, physical fatigue from computer terminal use
